Amanda is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of because I said I would. She helps propel the mission forward through maintaining becauseisaidiwould.com and the technologies that have been used to send over 5.46 million promise cards to over 153 countries since September 2012. In November of 2013, Amanda became our first full-time employee after over a year of volunteering her time to the cause. Prior to joining us, she worked at a software company in Westlake, OH with because I said I would‘s Founder, Alex Sheen.
Amanda is the youngest of five children and grew up in Lorain, OH. She graduated from DeVry University with a degree in Electronics and Computer Technology in 2006 and has worked in the technology field for all of her career. In 2013, Amanda served as the Vice President for the Cleveland User Experience Professionals Association – one of the most active chapters in the world. She currently resides in Lakewood, OH with her eight-year-old son, Trent, and her dog, Miska (pronounced Meesh-ka).
Megan Gallagher is a communications volunteer for because I said I would. This energetic and passionate young professional was instantly drawn to this social movement that is dedicated to strengthening humanity’s will.
Megan’s heart beats for all things that better mankind and her positive soul is drawn to making the world a more thoughtful and caring place. She works in Product Development at American Greetings, collaborating with writers and designers to create happiness, laughter and love through meaningful card product. Megan gives much of her free to time volunteering and educating herself on the issues she stands for most, as she strives to always be a woman of her word.
Zach is very happy to be working with because I said I would as a logistics coordinator volunteer. After being ambiently aware of the movement via viral videos, he encountered a monthly meeting opportunity by chance and immediately connected with the meaning. This moved the message from periphery to forefront, and he's been working with them weekly in some capacity ever since.
